Marshall Road Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC

The City of Abbotsford wanted the Marshall road extension to join. Due to the steep slope, the construction of a gridded MSE wall wouldn’t work to install. The grid requires a 40 foot wall and chasing the hillside. The cut slope would be over 100 feet tall. The use of shotcrete wasn’t preferred, as the material behind the shotcrete could become unstable. As excavation was done, the use of temporary shoring and Ankora’s tie back system met the requirements of the geotechnical engineer. Ankroa was the preferred retaining wall system.
