Ankora Wall was constructed on a residential property off a property on Hillkeep place in Chilliwack, B.C. Ankora was the best solution for this project for the conflict of existing underground utilities. If an MSE soil-reinforced grid retaining wall was used, the existing utilities would need to be temporarily removed, which adds to the overall cost. Utilizing the unique design of Ankora, allowed a reduction of 560 cubic meters, saving approximately $56,000 and another $10,000 of gravel. This also reduced construction by two weeks.
The owner of the property needed to stabilize the land for a driveway without excavating too much material and taking away valuable square footage. With using Ankora’s Retaining Wall system, it does not require the use of soil reinforced geo grid therefore reducing the amount of excavation required. This provided the client with the most efficient solution that maximized the space to its full potential.
