One of Ankora’s primary features is that it offers developers the advantage of reducing costs while maximizing square footage on their property. On most projects, Ankora eliminates the need for geogrid for walls up to 20 feet high, allowing for underground utilities to remain untouched. A traditional MSE retaining wall requires geogrid and has the potential to interfere with underground utilities.
In 2019 Ankora was used for a development project in Maui, Hawaii. This project was unique because it was wedged between two properties and had limited room to begin with. Tight property lines were a challenge the developer faced and needed a solution that would not risk encroachment. Ankora proved to be the ideal solution as it allowed the wall to be constructed right up to the property lines, thanks to the significant reduction in excavation required.
Ankora Retaining Wall successfully carried out this project by maximizing square footage for the developer and created a solid foundation for the construction of 8 homes. By eliminating the need for extensive excavation and geogrid, Ankora not only reduced costs but also maximized the available square footage, crucial in tight spaces. This approach not only addressed the immediate challenges of encroachment but also provided a sustainable, efficient solution for the long-term benefit of the development. With its proven track record of cost-effectiveness and space optimization, Ankora continues to redefine the possibilities in modern development projects, offering developers the freedom to realize their visions with greater flexibility and efficiency.
